Accenture survey highlights Brazilian adoption of cloud, mobility

Corporate mobility, increased adoption of cloud computing and “green” IT are highlights of a recent survey from Accenture entitled: “Brazil Infrastructure Maturity X-Ray.”The survey, which was conducted in partnership with IDC, showed the maturity level of IT infrastructure management. Brazilians firms were touted to be level 2.7 among 5 possible levels, however, the number shows an improvement compared to the 2.5 from 2010 and 2.4 in 2009.

Another highlight from the survey was the increased adoption of cloud computing, reaching 37% of companies, compared to 27% the previous year. According to Accenture, 28% have already adopted private clouds, 6% use public clouds and 3% both public and private clouds. But there’s still a way to go: 55% of responders are considering cloud adoption, while 8% have already defined plans to use cloud computing.

The adoption of green IT was also pointed as positive as Accenture noted green IT today is part of the corporate agenda of the country. The maturity level for green IT jumped from 2.5 to 2.7, and Accenture noted an increased investment in process innovation and improvements in technology information.
