RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazilian operator Claro is looking to get the upper hand in its battle with over-the-top players by rolling out a streaming movie service that offers on-demand content. The offering, dubbed Claro Video, is part of the carrier’s strategy to expand its services and offering of “content everywhere.”

Zenteno noted that the offering would work in harmony with the Muu offering from cable operator Net, which is also owned by America Movil.
Claro Video is designed to be accessed as a downloaded application through mobile devices and smart TVs. The offer includes a variety of video content, including concerts, drawings, documentaries, sports programs, series and films, and customers can pay a monthly subscription or on a pay-per-use basis.
