HONG KONG-The board of directors of Cable & Wireless HKT has appointed an independent committee of the board to consider the terms of the offer announced Feb. 29 by Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. to acquire C&W HKT through a wholly owned subsidiary of PCCW.
Cable & Wireless reported that ING Barings Asia Ltd. has been appointed as an independent financial adviser to the committee and will report its views to the board and shareholders of Cable & Wireless in due course.
