Canada

Granite Systems Inc.’s Xpercom solution has been selected by Bell Mobility Inc. of Canada to provide network configuration management to all of the company’s sites. According to Granite, the Xpercom solutions automate network engineering and administration, including facilities assignment, provisioning, network planning, network design, and inventory tracking and has been applied to wireless networks using Global System for Mobile communications, Code Division Multiple Access, Time Division Multiple Access, and Advanced Mobile Phone Service standard sets.

Finland

Sonera Corp. said as part of its efforts to develop new, advanced mobile phone services, it will launch a public exploration laboratory open to Sonera customers. Sonera Mspace will provide an environment where services are available to ordinary mobile phone customers for use and trials, said Sonera.

Honduras

Motorola Inc. signed an agreement with Telefonica Celular S.A. (Celtel) to provide an end-to-end Code Division Multiple Access solution in Honduras. The agreement includes network infrastructure and dual-mode wireless phones.

Norway

Tantau Software Inc., a developer of software and services enabling mobile e-commerce, was selected by EDB Novit AS, a Norwegian banking applications service provider, to build and deploy wireless banking applications for more than 30 Norwegian banks. Tantau’s recently introduced software allows customers to conduct mobile-commerce transactions using cellular telephones, hand-held computers and other mobile devices. EDB expects full public implementation of its wireless banking applications to begin in March.

South America

Aeris.net South America said Damos SudAmerica has agreed to offer Aeris’ MicroBurst data messaging service, integrated with Orbcomm Global L.P.’s satellite-based data network, for wireless data and messaging applications in South America.

United Kingdom

CMG Telecommunications Inc. said Vodafone Ltd. has licensed its WAP Service Broker solution. The Service Broker is a Wireless Application Protocol server focused on providing customized and location-based services.
