SAN ANTONIO-Telecommunications will look more colorful in the 21st century, according to a recently released report. “U.S. Consumer Telecommunications Demographic Markets: Strategic Analysis,” shows that by 2010, ethnic groups will surpass Caucasian’s as the markets most attractive customers.
The report released by Frost & Sullivan, an international marketing, consulting and training company that monitors the telecommunications industry, shows that ethnic groups have traditionally been high consumers of telecom services and companies that have offered ethno-centric packages have won a large share of this rapidly growing market.
The report also states that decreasing consumer sensitivity to mass advertisement is expected to hike marketing costs and that carriers should stop using conventional advertising styles and specialize their marketing to widen their consumer base. The report goes on to say that companies that do not use the Internet effectively to market services to different demographic groups will likely see a decrease in competitiveness in the telecommunications market.
