MELBOURNE, Fla.-AirNet Communications Corp. signed a multimillion dollar contract for Global System for Mobile communications base station subsystem equipment with High Plains/Midwest L.L.C., a wireless service provider operating in Kansas.
The contract calls for AirNet to supply GSM infrastructure equipment for the Hays, Garden City, Dodge City and Great Bend, Kan., basic trading areas, and includes more than 40 cell sites serving 204,000 potential subscribers.
AirNet will supply its new AdaptaCell base transceiver station-which allows vendors to operate multiple protocols on the base station at the same time-as well as its AirSite Backhaul Free base stations and other BSS equipment, said the company. AirNet also will supply a mobile switching center from Tecore Inc.
