WASHINGTON-The Federal Communications Commission has qualified 90 bidders to compete in the re-auction of 161 local multipoint distribution services licenses on April 27.
Seven LMDS licenses were removed from the original list of 168 as a result of recent regulatory actions.
Top bidders, based on upfront payments, are expected to be ABC-LMDS L.L.C., Lightspeed Communications L.P., Western PCS LMDS Corp. and Verso LMDS L.L.C.
The FCC collected $13.2 million total in upfront payments for the LMDS re-auction.
