Striking nerves
Dear Editor:
I have been in the two-way radio communications business for over 35 years. Regardless of my field, one thing I have noticed over the past 35+ years, the CEO of a company does not complain publicly or in print unless someone has hit a very, very sensitive spot. Methinks that you have struck an extremely sensitive nerve with Mr. Akerson (Letter-to-the-editor, March 29). Continue on, inasmuch as we cannot trust many of our elected or appointed officials. The press, as liberal as it may seem, is our last hope.

Counting frequency coordinators
Dear Editor:
I was very interested to read Heather Forsgren Weaver’s article, “PCIA in the middle of coordination disputes,” RCR, March 29.
However, your statement: “Three groups coordinate frequencies in the lower bands … ” is slightly misleading. There are six additional frequency coordinators that are certified by the FCC to coordinate in the Industrial/Business pool: FIT, MRFAC, AAR, ATA, AAA and CSPAA. ITA, PCIA and UTC are not the only coordinators as your statement seems to imply. Although the six you omitted may not constitute the biggest in either dollar volume or membership, they nonetheless have equal access to the spectrum and constitute very viable frequency coordination as “competing entities.”
