WASHINGTON-The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions said Year 2000
interoperability testing conducted by the Network Testing Committee indicated no Y2K related anomalies within U.S.
interconnected telecommunications networks.
ATIS said the NTS tests focused on call processing, mass calling
events and potential congestion, cross network services call completion and impact of time zones, among other criteria.
Key dates tested were Dec. 31, 1999; Feb. 28 and 29, 2000; and Dec. 31, 2000.
Service providers that participated
in the testing included AT&T Corp., Sprint Corp., Ameritech Corp., GTE Corp. and U S West Inc., said ATIS.
