LOS ANGELES-Telemac Corp., a handset-based prepaid technology supplier, said it
aggressively is seeking to license its Telemac Prepaid Technology to wireless handset manufacturers after signing an
extended non-exclusive contract for the technology with Philips Consumer Communications.
“We expect to
begin announcing additional handset licensees within the next few weeks,” said Kenin M. Spivak, chairman and
chief executive officer of Telemac.
The expanded agreement with Philips calls for the companies to promote each
other in the prepaid market and for Philips to integrate the Telemac Prepaid technology into its new Global System for
Mobile communications handset.
