Power Products Unlimited Inc. selected Ken Donofrio as its new marketing
director. He will orchestrate all aspects of the company’s marketing and carrier services program. Donofrio previously
was director of marketing and carrier support for Cliffco Wireless.
WirelessNorth
WirelessNorth promoted its
market development coordinator, Heidi Brand, to market development manager. Brand previously worked as an
advertising executive at The Forum, a newspaper in Fargo, N.D. Brand assists the sales and marketing team in creating
and implementing marketing programs and advertising campaigns, as well as creating promotional materials. She
joined WirelessNorth in April.

Ronald H. Runyan was elected chairman of United States Motorola
Service Stations. He is vice president and general manager of Canyon State Communications Inc. in Phoenix. Also,
George E. Fleming was elected vice chairman of USMSS. Fleming is also president of Chicago Communication
Service Inc.
Price Communication
D. Michael Key is now Price Communication Wireless Inc.’s new chief
technical officer. He will be responsible for continuing the company’s cellular system and the future deployment of
other technologies. Key recently served with PriCellular as executive director of engineering, as well as with Sterling
Cellular and Motorola Inc. He has 32 years experience in telecommunications.

Wildfire
Communications Inc. named Daniel Hoy president and chief executive officer. He will replace Robert Mechaley Jr.,
who is leaving the company for personal reasons, the company said. Hoy formerly was chief operating officer and
senior vice president of Summa Four Inc.
PageMart
PageMart Wireless Inc. announced Steven Dodge was
elected to its board of directors, filling a newly created seat. Dodge is chairman and chief executive officer of American
Tower Corp.
Wytec
Wytec Inc. appointed several new outside members to its board of directors. They include
Frank Ianna, president of AT&T Network Services Inc.; Dr. Michael Murphy, vice president of market planning and
strategic pricing for Qwest Communications; and Bob Marshall, managing partner of Selby Venture
Partners.
Arch
Arch Communications Group Inc. announced it plans to appoint three MobileMedia Corp. senior
executives to its senior management team once the merger between the two companies is completed. Steven Gross,
MobileMedia executive vice president, sales and marketing, will hold the same position at Arch. Stephen Burdette will
become senior vice president of operations at Arch. He holds a similar position at MobileMedia. Patricia Gray will fill
Arch’s newly created position of vice president and general counsel, a position she currently holds at
MobileMedia.
Corsair
Corsair Communications Inc. announced the appointment of former Federal
Communications Commission Commissioner Rachelle Chong to its board of directors. Chong was appointed to the
FCC by President Clinton in 1994. At the FCC, Chong oversaw a number of important proceedings, including wireless
spectrum auctions, the transition to digital television standards and the implementation of the Telecommunications Act
of 1996. Chong currently is a partner at the international law firm of Coudert Brothers.
Qualcomm
Qualcomm
Inc. promoted Phil White to president of Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions. Since joining Qualcomm in 1987,
White has served as division controller, vice president of finance, vice president and general manager and most
recently, as senior vice president and general manager of QWBS. In his new position, White will concentrate on
broadening Qualcomm’s mobile data messaging business. David Brandos was appointed to vice president of marketing
for QWBS. Brandos was previously in charge of business development of the high data rate wireless technology in
Qualcomm’s Wireless Infrastructure division. Prior to Qualcomm, Brandos served in senior management roles at Alltel
Communications, Pacific Communication Sciences Inc. and McCaw Cellular Communications Inc. Dr. Sung W. Kim
was appointed to managing director of the company’s office in Seoul, Korea. He will develop strategic direction and
work closely with Qualcomm’s Korean partners. Kim most recently served as managing director of LG Electronics Inc.
in Seoul. Qualcomm also announced Ambassador Diana Lady Dougan was elected to its board of directors. Dougan
will fill the position on the board left vacant by Harvey White, former president of Qualcomm. Dougan was granted the
permanent rank of Ambassador for her service in the Reagan Administration, from 1982 to 1988, as the first statutory
U.S. Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy, and administratively as Assistant Secretary
of State. She currently serves as communications studies chair and senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and
International Studies as well as chair of the Cyber Century Forum.
Comsearch
Douglass R. Hall was appointed
president of Comsearch. Hall has been with Comsearch for 18 years where he most recently was vice president of
operations. He is a founding member of the National Spectrum Manager Association and served on its board of
directors.
Tellabs
Tellabs appointed David Powell vice president and general manager of its Network Enhancing
Technologies Solutions division following the retirement of Dan McGinnis. Powell previously ran Tellabs’ Coherent
original equipment manufacturer group and was president and chief operating officer of Coherent Communications
Systems Corp. before it was acquired by Tellabs. Stephen M. McCarthy is the new vice president of Global Solutions
and Service for Tellabs. He will be responsible for customer services. Previously, McCarthy was senior vice president
of Automatic Data Processing’s Major Accounts central division and held management and sales positions at Ameritech
Corp. and IBM Corp. Tellabs also appointed J. Thomas Gruenwald vice president and general manager of its Network
Solutions and Broadband Media groups. Gruenwald was vice president of Tellabs’ Strategic Resources.

Future Horizons Inc. named John W. Blend III and Ramanan Raghavendran to its board of directors. Both
Blend and Raghavendran work with InSight Capital Partners. Previously, Blend served as president of worldwide sales
and marketing and director of Indus International. Raghavendran was a senior professional in the software investment
group at General Atlantic Partners.
Integrated Data
Integrated Data Communications Inc. named Dan A. Allen
its new president and chief executive officer. A 25-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Allen joins IDC
from Nextel Communications Inc. where he was president of the Mid-Atlantic area.
Applied Cellular
Applied
Cellular Technology Inc. added John A. Kwarsick and Keith T. Bolton to its strategic relations team, a group designed
to foster internal growth by developing account opportunities and creating new sales channels. Kwarsick was a senior
data management specialist for three years with IBM Corp. and Bolton worked for BellSouth Corp. for eight years in
Internet/electronic commerce sales strategy and development.
CTIA
The Cellular Telecommunications Industry
Association named Michael Evans executive director of its Foundation for Wireless Telecommunications. Evans has
been with the Foundation since March of 1997, most recently as acting director. Prior to that,
he served as director of
communications and technology for Youth Service America. J. Mark Howell, president of Brightpoint Inc., joined the
Foundation’s board of directors.
BellSouth Mobility
BellSouth Mobility DCS appointed Tom Shevlot to
director
of sales for east Tennessee. Tom was a senior market manager for BellSouth Cellular in Bloomington, Ind., where he
began his career with BellSouth as an outside sales representative. Kevin Grass was promoted to sales director of the
Alabama and northwest Florida regions. In his six years with the company, he has been an area branch manager in
Tuscaloosa, Ala., and distribution sales manager in Chattanooga, Tenn. Barry Gillespie was promoted to general
manager for northern Alabama. He formerly was market manager for the Dothan, Ala., area. He joined BellSouth in
1991.
