ARLINGTON, Va.-The Telecommunications Industry Association said U.S. factory sales of telecommunications equipment rose to $55.6 billion at the close of third quarter, an 11-percent increase from the same period of 1997, according to U.S. Department of Commerce figures.
TIA said the year-to-date figure was bolstered by $19 billion in telecom equipment sales during the third quarter, up 14 percent compared with the third quarter of last year. The data was compiled by EIA Market Research.
