NEW YORK-The National Association of Manufacturers, Washington, D.C., has launched a new Web site designed to provide Year 2000 product and service information for businesses dealing with Y2K computer upgrade issues.
The association’s “Clearinghouse for Current Solutions” to the Year 2000 computer conversion problem can be reached at: www.nam.org/y2k/y2khome.asp
“Any organization or company can use our Y2K Web site to share information about Year 2000 remediation efforts, including testing of goods and services that may have Y2K issues,” said Jan Amundson, general counsel of NAM.
The site allows companies to find Y2K products and services, list their own Y2K efforts and solutions and provide information about remediation efforts by third parties.
Companies can search by company name or type and can link the association site to their own Y2K information.
“Our new Y2K Web site will help a broad range of companies, especially small and medium-size firms that lack electronic sophistication, to share information about how they are addressing Y2K challenges,” Amundson said.
“The U.S. Department of Justice recently affirmed that the NAM’s new Y2K Web site and our efforts to encourage our member companies to share meaningful Y2K information will not be challenged for antitrust purposes.”
