A key feature of the new service is its distributed switching architecture-a routing system that provides local links for a variety of cellular and standard telephone systems with different protocols, said the companies. Tecore’s AirCore Platform is a scalable mobile switching center that interfaces with a variety of wireless technologies, including Global System for Mobile communications, Time Division Multiple Access, Code Division Multiple Access and Advanced Mobile Phone Service. While the system can benefit network operators anywhere in the world, it is expected to be valuable in expanding domestic and international telecommunications infrastructures in Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa.
