NEW YORK-British Telecommunications plc announced its mobile satellite communications customers will enjoy price reductions up to 15 percent, when the company introduces a new U.S. dollar billing rate.
BT will reduce the cost of calling from mobile terminals via the Inmarsat system. Customers on BT’s Inmarsat-A, -B and M-Sat services in most countries will benefit, the company said. Inmarsat A off-peak calls to the Pacific Rim region will enjoy the biggest reductions, down to $4.60 a minute. The majority of other countries will see prices fall by at least 3.7 percent, said BT.
