ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-Motorola Inc.’s Cellular Infrastructure Group announced it won a contract to supply a Code Division Multiple Access wireless local loop network in Kuwait.
Commercial service to more than 2,300 subscribers in the northern and southern regions of Kuwait is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 1998. Kuwait’s Post, Telegraph and Telecommunication plans to expand the network next year to the urban areas of Kuwait City.
“This is the second Motorola CIG CDMA WiLL system to be deployed in the Middle East,” said Adrian Nemcek, corporate vice president and general manager of Motorola’s European Cellular Infrastructure Group.
