LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-Alltel Corp. announced it is now offering dual-mode digital wireless phone service in central Arkansas.
The new service will allow customers with digital wireless phones, which have the ability to operate on either a digital or analog network, to continue using them outside of the greater Little Rock area.
“This dual-mode feature adds the convenience of a statewide network that is not available with other [personal communications services] and digital wireless service carriers,” said George Page, president of Alltel’s central market.
“In fact, our digital wireless phones are compatible with current wireless systems throughout North America. We want our customers to have the latest in technology without sacrificing any convenience.”
Alltel offers two service plans, $45 per month including 250 free minutes, or $65 per month including 600 free minutes. The free minutes are available in Alltel’s digital wireless coverage area, and calls within the expanded coverage area are toll free, said the company.
