LINCOLN, Neb.-Transcrypt International Inc.’s E.F. Johnson Minnesota subsidiary won a contract to provide a two-way radio system for Electcoms SDN BHD of Malaysia to be used for the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, announced the company.
The new wide area LTR system will include upgrades to existing Johnson repeaters as well as 80 new repeaters and four wide area LTR switching systems, said the company.
Infrastructure for the system is scheduled to be delivered in December with the subscriber units slated for delivery during the first quarter.
The system first will be activated as a wide area LTR network and then upgraded to complete LTR-Net functionality later next year, said the company.
