SAN JOSE, Costa Rica-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it won a contract to expand the Time Division Multiple Access network for the Costa Rican national telephone company, Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad.
The expansion, which Lucent values at $18 million, will provide service for an additional 40,000 subscribers, nearly double ICE’s existing capacity. Lucent built the original system last year under a contract valued at $30 million.
