BellSouth Mobility named Scott Stone, Jack Landham, Rick Rudden and Terry D. Newberry to management positions for Alabama and northwest Florida. Stone, who was named director of finance, joined the company in 1992 as a business operations manager for BellSouth Cellular. Landham, the company’s new area marketing manager, joined BellSouth in 1993 as an account executive. Rudden was appointed area retail manager. He has been with the company since February. Newberry, who joined the company in 1994, is now a senior financial analyst.

Lightbridge Inc. announced it hired Irene Stern as fraud product manager in the Customer Acquisition Group. Stern has more than 10 years of experience focused on issues involving risk management, credit and collections, revenue assurance and cellular fraud. Most recently she was director of revenue loss prevention at PrimeCo Personal Communications L.P. and was responsible for the design, implementation and management of the Loss Prevention Department.

Hamad Rashid is the new director of technical education at Zsigo Wireless Data Consultants Inc. He will be responsible for delivering technical training for software developers, manufacturers and carriers. Rashid will teach in the Technical Education Department of Zsigo Wireless and will conduct in-house and public workshops in the United States and internationally. Formerly, Rashid worked on a contract basis with Zsigo Wireless as director of information services.

SCC Communications Corp. appointed Jeff Crollick wireless industry technologies manager. He will serve as a subject matter expert for wireless industry issues and represent the company in technical and operational industry forums. Prior to joining the company, Crollick was manager of wireless industry technology and standards at GTE Telecommunications Services Inc.

J. Gordon Payne is the new general manager for Northern Telecom Ltd.’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions. He will be responsible for the company’s Global Enterprise Mobility business including Companion Unlicensed Personal Communications Systems wireless systems and Companion Microcellular. Most recently, Payne was director of advanced call centers for Nortel. He has been with the company since 1981.

Western Communications named Kasey O. Thompson sales representative, with responsibility for overall sales of two-way radio equipment and accessories for eastern Oregon and southern and western Idaho. Thompson most recently owned his own construction firm and has eight years experience in sales.

TollFree Cellular appointed Robin Reiners director of marketing communications and Diana Harker advertising specialist. Reiners most recently was creative services manager at Allied Telesyn International, a local area network components provider. Reiners was responsible for implementing a new corporate image for the company as well as managing all creation, production and distribution of collateral materials worldwide. Harker will be responsible for managing in-house marketing communications projects. Most recently she was associate manager of client services at KidStar Interactive Media.

Alex Quinones joined ComSites USA Inc. as director of site engineering. He will be responsible for site engineering and development of antenna sites, documenting existing conditions to ascertain usefulness of sites and conducting comprehensive surveys in order to recommend antenna and radio equipment placement. Prior to joining the company, Quinones spent several years with Retcom Inc. as site acquisition manager.

Palmer Wireless Inc. named Brian Edwards director of sales. Edwards, who has been with the company since 1989, will be responsible for managing the sales activities, strategies and objectives of the company. He will establish sales and customer retention programs designed to meet customer expectations and achieve Palmer’s overall sales objectives, said the company. Palmer also gave added responsibility to Steve Carlson including overseeing all seven region directors in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Carlson was one of the original members of Palmer when it began operations in 1987.

Authentix Network Inc. appointed Richard B. Cahill to the newly created position of vice president of strategic planning and business development. Cahill has more than 13 years of experience in the wireless communications industry, including involvement in wireless information systems supporting the wireless industry and anti-fraud solutions. Cahill joins Authentix from Cellular Technical Services Inc. where he held positions in sales, marketing and business development.

Kathy David James was named direct sales representative for BellSouth Mobility in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She began with the company as a sales and service associate last year.
