RICHARDSON, Texas-Siemens Wireless Terminals reached an agreement with IDG Books Worldwide to publish a user guide for its new personal communications services handset. IDG Books is known for its …For Dummies series of books.
“We have found that the …For Dummies approach can take the fear out of using a computer, learning to golf or getting ahead in business,” said Ken Ball, director of emerging markets for IDG Books Worldwide. “This same fun and friendly approach can work for using PCS handsets.”
Siemens said it hopes an intuitive interface it added to the handset coupled with the user guide will translate into higher usage of pocket phones and all of their features.
The first guide will be released at the same time as the handset, due out in June. The guide will be published in English, Spanish and French.
