ISSAQUAH, Wash.-Western Wireless Corp. launched its VoiceStream wireless service in Des Moines, Iowa. The system uses Global System for Mobile communications technology.
The network includes metropolitan Des Moines, areas along Interstate 35 from Ames to Osceola and along Interstate 80 from Newton to just west of Des Moines.
VoiceStream also is available in Honolulu, Albuquerque, N.M., Salt Lake City, Portland, Ore., and Oklahoma City.
