GARDENA, Calif.-Teletrac’s location information solution was chosen to be used in the City of Gardena, Calif., Police Department’s public safety vehicles.
“Because of a national increase in officers being targets of attack in the line of duty, the City of Gardena wants to ensure that it is taking every available step to reduce the risk to our staff,” said Richard K. Propster, chief of police.
“With Teletrac, we can pinpoint the vehicle(s) needing assistance in real time as well as help us to locate and dispatch the closest back-up units.”
The system has been installed in more than 40 vehicles including patrol vehicles, prisoner transport vans, parking enforcement vehicles and detective units.
