Juniper Networks announced a contract win with Divona Telecom, a satellite and WiMAX operator in Africa. The carrier will use Juniper Networks’ MXseries Ethernet Services Routers for Ethernet-based WiMAX backhaul. The deployment is designed to increase network capacity, reduce operational costs and accelerate delivery of fixed and mobile wireless broadband services to the carrier’s premium corporate customers.
“Our customer base is set to double every quarter in the coming four years, therefore, sufficient capacity is critical to the future of our business. We are also deploying WiMAX connectivity in five major cities in Tunisia and required a backhaul network that could reduce operational expenses even as we accelerate the delivery of new services,” says Mohamed Garbouj, chief executive officer, Divona Telecom.
Divona was founded in 2003 and offers service in Algeria, sub-Sahara Africa and parts of Europe and Asia.
