LEXINGTON, Mass. – Wildfire Communications Inc. signed 12 new authorized service providers for its electronic assistant and inked expansion agreements with two companies already offering the product. The Wildfire Electronic Assistant is now available through 34 providers in more than 40 metropolitan areas throughout the United States and Canada.
Wildfire also announced that One.Tel Pty Ltd. of Sydney, Australia, will offer the product throughout Australia, becoming Wildfire’s first non-North American provider.
“Wildfire is entering five new markets each month,” said Rob Mechaley, president and CEO. “The pioneering efforts of the first authorized service providers have prompted the rapid expansion of the ASP channel. We expect to reach all major North American markets by the end of the year, and the pilot program in Australia will provide important feedback on the acceptability of the Wildfire Assistant in English-speaking countries outside of North America.”
In a time when fewer and fewer professionals have secretaries, Wildfire uses speech recognition to do what secretaries used to do: handle incoming and outgoing calls, schedule follow-up calls, give the user reminders, create conference calls, manage all messages and maintain a complete contact list. A user can call Wildfire from a car phone, pay phone, mobile phone or hotel phone and, in a single “session” take care of various communications tasks.
“We’re excited to be the first company to bring the Wildfire Electronic Assistant to the Pacific Rim,” said Bradley Keeling of One.Tel, Wildfire’s Australian provider. “Judging by the success of Wildfire in the United States, we see this as a unique opportunity to bring an innovative new technology to Australia.”
