Raytheon E-Systems announced its Fully Adaptive Smart Antenna System. The product will give cellular providers the ability to increase cellular call capacity, improve network efficiency and offer a foundation for enhanced services, said the company. In field tests, Raytheon said its antenna system doubled existing cellular capacity through intelligent spectrum management, which allows the system to process at least twice as many channels as current systems by reducing interference and forming signal beams along the receipt and transmission of energy. Benefits of the antenna include clearer connections, fewer dropped calls and decreased signal fading, said the company. (703) 560-5000.
