POCKET SUBMITS BID ON DEFAULT LICENSES

Pocket Communications Inc. (formerly DCR Communications Inc.) said it submitted a $1.3 million deposit to the Federal Communications Commission Friday to bid on the C-block personal communications service licenses scheduled for re-auction July 3.

“Our primary targets are the Phoenix and Tucson licenses,” stated Daniel Riker, Pocket chairman and chief executive officer. He added the company is prepared to bid for other licenses and submitted applications for all 18 licenses that are on the block.

The licenses are for sale again after C-block bidders BDPCS Inc. and National Telecom PCS Inc. each failed to pay their 5 percent required down payment by the May 15 deadline.

Washington, D.C.-based Pocket bid $1.4 billion in the C-block auction for licenses in 43 markets.
