The design incorporates a new display screen layout, a clock and date facility, a calculator and the ability to send and receive short written messages to other mobile users. The phone also allows for data and fax transmission.

Motorola licenses ReFLEX to Uniden

Motorola Inc.’s Advanced Messaging Systems Division said it licensed its two-way messaging protocol, ReFLEX, to Uniden America Corp.

The licensing agreement gives Uniden the ability to design, build and sell ReFLEX two-way personal messaging devices for the narrowband personal communications services market, Motorola said.
