ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.-Aria Wireless Systems of Orchard Park, N.Y., and Brighton Information Systems of New York City will jointly own a new venture in China. Aria announced that it has signed a letter of intent to form the company to be headquartered in Hong Kong and named Aria China.
Aria China also will have offices in Beijing and Shanghai and will market Aria’s wireless fixed-data network products in China. Aria also said it signed an initial order, valued at $750,000, for System III network equipment to be deployed in first quarter 1996. System III is the networking technology underlying Aria’s private data digital network service for on-line transaction processing in the United States.
“The establishment of Aria China is in line with our strategy to seek direct relationships with customers in key markets,” said Daniel Dominguez, vice president of international sales for Aria. “Our experience in other parts of the world has shown that such a relationship with end users is critical to ensuring the level of performance and reliability demanded by the on-line transaction processing industry.”
Nearly one year ago Aria established Aria Wireless Systems de Mexico, S.A., the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, based in Mexico City, which manages its Latin American markets.
