ANCHORAGE, Alaska-Cook Inlet Region Inc. of Alaska has formed a limited partnership with BellSouth Corp. to pursue personal communications services licenses in the upcoming designated-entity auction.
Cook Inlet Region, which is owned by 6,700 Native American shareholders-of which 53 percent are women-will operate as Cook Inlet PCS Inc. BellSouth will be represented through its subsidiary, BellSouth Personal Communications Inc. Cook Inlet will own 50.1 percent and BellSouth will own 49.9 percent.
Cook Inlet has owned and managed broadcast TV and radio properties in several major markets, including Chicago, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Seattle, Houston, New Haven, Conn., Nashville, Tenn., and Phoenix.
