Venture capital financing wrap-up: Accedian, Morpho, Wisair and more

The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.

Accedian Networks: RHO Canada Ventures, Skypoint Capital and Solidarity Fund QFL invested $7.6 million into Montreal-based Accedian Networks, which provides Packet Performance Assurance solutions. The follow-on funding round will be used for continued product development and to expand sales, marketing, operations and customer service capacities.

Arieso: Oxford Capital Partners and Qualcomm Ventures led a $10 million Series B investment round into Arieso Ltd., a wireless network optimization provider. Existing investors Add Partners and Top Technology also participated.

Morpho: Nokia Growth Partners, the venture-capital arm of Nokia, invested $1.5 million into Japan-based Morpho Inc., which provides image processing software for mobile devices. The company said it will use the funding to grow its overseas operations.

N-trig: Canaan Partners and Evergreen Venture Partners joined existing investors in investing $28 million into Israel-based N-trig, which has developed technology that combines pen and zero-pressure touch for mobile computers into a single device. In addition, the company said it has closed a $5 million credit facility from Plenus, a venture-lending fund in Israel.

Tiny Pictures: Draper Fisher Jurvetson led a $7.2 million investment into Tiny Pictures Inc., which provides technology that allows real-time sharing of camera-phone pictures and videos between devices. The Series B funding also included participation from existing investor Mohr Davidow Ventures. The company said the funding will allow it to focus on international growth opportunities and further development of its new ad platform.

Wisair: Susquehanna Growth Equity led a $24 million round of funding into Wisair, which provides single-chip-based Ultra Wideband and Wireless USB solutions. Also participating in the Series D funding round were new investors Advent Venture Partners, Bridge Capital Fund of Japan and Yasuda Ventures, as well as existing investors Apax Partners, Broadcom, Intel Capital, Vertex, and Zisapel brothers from the RAD group. The company said the funding will allow it to accelerate release of products with integrated WUSB capabilities.
