NEW DELHI: Vodafone Essar , the country’s second largest GSM-based mobile operator, said it supports auctions for all future allocations of airwaves and termed it the most ‘optimal and efficient’ methodology for handing out this scarce resource.
“Auctions will introduce a consistent approach to pricing of spectrum rather than radically different approaches to charging for spectrum and despite the fact that all operators compete in the same market,” the company said in a letter to telecoms minister Kapil Sibal.
