PONTIAC, Mich.-Telematics supplier Guidepoint launched a service that allows drivers to track and control their vehicles with their cell phone, BlackBerry or other Web-enabled wireless device.
The WAP version of the company’s product lets subscribers track their vehicle, unlock their car doors, start the engine and honk the horn using their wireless device. The new service is standard with several of the company’s annual service plans.
“We developed the WAP functionality to give our subscribers more choices,” said Rand Mueller, chief executive officer of the company.
