SAN JOSE, Calif.-Aeris.net, a machine-to-machine wireless services provider, announced that its new AerFrame service delivery platform is available, and already is being used by Qualcomm Inc. to support its T2 un-tethered trailer tracking program.
Aeris.net said its AerFrame platform represents a new paradigm in wireless M2M, offering open-network, rugged connectivity combined with standby availability of higher bandwidth network services, supporting messaging requirements from short packet bursts to streaming data and even voice for those applications requiring occasional on-demand voice connectivity.
The company said that leveraging the strength of its MicroBurst service and its partnerships with more than 30 North American wireless carriers, AerFrame delivers real-time managed data delivery for mission-critical applications, combining always-on connectivity with the ability to use high-bandwidth services as needed to upgrade software in the field, open a video channel to verify an alarm or fix a bug in devices deployed throughout North America. Aeris.net also noted that its dedicated network operating center provides access, connectivity and managed data delivery across disparate networks, such as CDMA, GSM, AMPS, satellite, Wi-Fi or wireline.
“We developed AerFrame based on our customers’ unique communications requirements-always-on, reliable connectivity and on-demand access to higher bandwidth services,” said Dick Gossen, president and chief executive of Aeris.net.
Terms of the deal with Qualcomm were not disclosed.
