MIAMI LAKES, Fla.-Calypso Wireless Inc. retained David Davila to serve as president and chief executive officer, in a move the company said is intended to bolster its ability to deliver its product to market and enforce its patent rights.
Davila, who is returning to the company, replaces interim president George Schilling.
The company also named Michael Pizzi executive vice president and general counsel. Calypso highlighted Pizzi’s expected role in enforcing the company’s patent rights.
Finally, Calypso said Cheryl Dotson, former chief of staff to Houston Mayor Lee Brown, will assume the duties of chief financial officer.
Calypso’s ASNAP technology allows cellular phones to automatically detect any available wireless local area network and seamlessly switch between standard cellular sites and short-range broadband networks.
