BELLEVUE, Wash.-T-Mobile USA Inc. said it has surpassed the 20 million wireless subscriber plateau, two and a half years after it reached the 10 million customer milestone. The carrier has added more than 1.9 million customers through the first half of this year and currently is the industry’s fourth-largest wireless operator.
Analysts have attributed T-Mobile USA’s strong growth to its high-value proposition, as the carrier generally provides the least expensive per-minute rate plans among nationwide operators. T-Mobile USA also has garnered top marks in recent customer satisfaction surveys.
T-Mobile USA’s parent company Deutsche Telekom AG recently said it planned to keep its U.S. operations, which have become a major source of growth for DT.
