VANCOUVER, British Columbia-Alcatel Corp. has chosen Convedia Corp.’s line of media servers to be included in the company’s media resource product suite, according to an agreement between the two companies.
Alcatel will market and resell Convedia’s technology as an integral component of its media resource products to carrier and enterprise customers.
Alcatel’s media resource product suite provides multimedia user interaction and media delivery, including customized announcements, multimedia streaming, multimedia conference bridging, DTMF collection, synthesized speech, automated speech recognition and call routing with detection of operator transfer instructions. Convedia’s media servers consolidate the functions of traditional announcement and recording servers, interactive voice response units, audio/video conference bridges, voice mail servers and speech platforms on a single shared media processing platform.
