SAN DIEGO-Mobile virtual network operator Movida announced it will sell Kyocera Wireless Corp.’s KX1 for $100. The MVNO said the phone, called SoHo by Kyocera, will be its first mid-tier handset offering in its debut line-up.
“We are very pleased to be adding Kyocera’s design-focused SoHo to our product line,” said Anthony Montoya, Movida’s president. The MVNO uses Sprint Corp.’s network and targets the Hispanic market in the United States. “Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach to mobile phones, Kyocera understands that the U.S. Hispanic market requires more personalization-they want phones that match their lifestyle in terms of design and functionality, but still at an affordable price.”
