Contributor members are being integrated into Technical Workgroups based on each company’s focus and each Workgroup’s technical requirements. The five Technical Workgroups chartered by the Steering Committee are infrastructure, management, regulation & ecosystem, security, and services.
“Open, industry-standard, multi-vendor usage models are vital for data center and cloud infrastructure innovation, and China Unicom Group is honored to join the Alliance leadership,” said Mr. Boliang Liu, General Manager of IT Department, China Unicom Group. “We look forward to working with the Steering Committee and new Contributor members to drive the Usage Model Roadmap to completion.”
The organization has been undergoing strong growth with the addition of IT leaders at both Adopter and Contributor membership levels. Due to this outstanding interest in the organization, the Alliance will be implementing membership dues in April 2011 for new Adopter and Contributor members. Adopter membership dues will be $1,000 per year, and Contributor membership dues will be $5,000 per year. Companies who apply for membership before April 1, 2011 will first be charged dues at the second anniversary of their membership. Adopter members can be considered for Contributor membership on the password-protected “members” area of the Alliance website. The Alliance is also expected to finalize the scope of vendor participation in the coming weeks to ensure open dialog with the cloud computing industry as it moves forward to delivery of its 1.0 Roadmap.
“With more than 100 members and growing, the Alliance is quickly becoming a leading voice for the IT community,” said Johan Krebbers, Vice President of Architecture and Group IT Architect, Shell Global Solutions, Inc. “Introducing dues for 2011 allows us to ensure that we can offer our membership the collaboration and communication opportunities that they are seeking through their membership in the organization.”
