The private investment promotion agency, ProInversion, has postponed the process to award 25MHz of spectrum in the 1900MHz band which it had hoped would attract a fourth operator to enter the Peruvian mobile market.
ProInversion telecoms project director, Jesus Guillen, told BNamericas that the auction timeline had been put back due to technical reasons. Guillen said ProInversion is due to approve the final version of the concession contract, which will be sent to interested operators. ‘We do not yet have a final date for the opening of technical and economic offers.
We expect this could occur on 30 or 31 December, but it also could take place during the first days of January,’ he added.
