T-Mobile photo service uses digital picture frame, offers new customers plane tickets

T-Mobile USA Inc. is trying to put a few new twists on holiday shopping incentives. The wireless provider has launched a new service to get photos off of customers’ phones and into frames, literally. The carrier announced the availability of T-Mobile cameo, a digital picture frame connected to its network. The digital photo frame, built by Parrot, comes equipped with its own number and e-mail address, allowing T-Mobile customers with camera phones to send their photos directly to the frame. The cameo works with any mobile phone from any network, but pictures must be sent as MMS messages or e-mails. Once the frame owner accepts a photo from a sender, they can direct the frame to automatically load all photos sent from that person immediately, with no permission.
The cameo also features a USB connection and micro-SD card so it can be used for other photos from a computer or digital camera. The frame is available today at T-Mobile USA stores for $100 and $10 per month service charge.
In other T-Mobile USA news, the carrier is giving new customers free plane tickets. For those who sign up for service or existing customers who re-sign a contract through Dec. 24, T-Mobile USA will give the customer and each line of a family plan a complimentary companion plane ticket. Each family can receive up to 5 tickets. The tickets have no blackout dates and are good for one year.
