Verizon Wireless (VZ) didn’t get Apple Inc.’s (AAPL) iPhone 4 until eight months after AT&T Mobility (T), but it now has 32% of all iPhone 4s in the United States running on its network, according to a new report.
Based on traffic and iPhone 4 sales at Verizon since it launched the device, mobile analytics firm Localytics has tracked consecutive monthly jumps. Verizon grabbed 7% of the iPhone 4 customer base in May and June alone.
Localytics suggests Verizon’s unlimited data offering, which sunseted this week, could have played a role in Verizon’s momentum.
Since the iPhone 4 launched in February, AT&T’s share has steadily dropped from an effective monopoly on all iPhones to a 67.7% share of all active iPhone 4s in the United States today.
