VelaTel scores TD-LTE deal in China

VelaTel Global Communications said it has entered in an agreement with China Aerospace Science and Technology Group subsidiary Aerostrong to deploy and operate a TD-LTE network for use primarily as a private network for CAST’s employees.

The deal involves several subsidiary and operating companies owing to the complex nature of operating in China.

VelaTel did note it will finance the infrastructure equipment working with its network partner ZTE. The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the year, with Aerostrong to secure additional spectrum licenses to power the service in early 2012.
