Mobile virtual network operators continue to push up-market in search of consumers. The latest to make the move is Zact, which is offering up smartphones running across Sprint Nextel’s 3G and LTE network.

The company, which is owned by cloud-based software developer ItsOn, is bucking the current “unlimited” service trend by allowing customers to customize their service plans, and then refunding some of those costs should they not use all of their allotted buckets. The customization includes voice calling, messaging and data usage.

Customers can select voice buckets beginning at 30 minutes for 90 cents all the way up to 5,000 minutes for $86.97; messaging plans beginning at 25 messages for 71 cents up to 15,000 messages for $34.91; and data buckets beginning at $1.88 for 50 megabytes up to $104 for 5 gigabytes. Customers can also elect to not have any of the services.

Customers can also add a line to form a shared offering for $5 per month, with the customer able to dynamically allot the voice, messaging or data usage between devices.

Zact notes that if a customer ends up not using all of their allotted bucket, it will refund the difference down to the bucket that is closest to their actual usage.

As for devices, Zact said it will initially offer the LG Viper 4G LTE for $399 and the LG Optimus Elite for $199, both are unsubsidized prices. Those devices are available beginning today for pre-order, with service expected to begin next month.

To further promote its offering, Zact also produced a video with the required folks-y music accompaniment.
