5.5 seems to be the magic number this season for smartphone screen sizes. The iPhone 6 Plus, which now represents an estimated 25% of iPhone sales, sports a 5.5 inch screen and now the latest Android phones seem to be following suit.
Today in Beijing Huawei launched its latest flagship — the Honor 6 plus — with a 5.5 inch screen and three onboard cameras. Why does a smartphone need three cameras? Well there’s one in the front of course for selfies, and then there are two on the back of the phone — Huawei says this will let you refocus pictures that you have already taken, and will increase resolution for all photos.
Yesterday rumors came out of Asia about a possible Samsung Galaxy S6 launch in early January, and that phone is also said to have a 5.5 inch screen. The S6 is expected to ship with a 20-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, as well as 32 gig of storage to hold all those photos.
    That is your Mobile Minute.
