AUSTIN, Texas – The Mobile Minute is brought to you by Juniper Networks. Today we are at IEEE GlobeCom in Austin Texas and many of the biggest names in wireless are here as well, especially on the infrastructure side. Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Samsung, Cisco and Huawei are all big presences here. AT&T is the major carrier represented here and the company’s Edward Amoroso delivered yesterday’s first keynote, focusing on cloud security.
On the silicon side, Intel and Qualcomm are here as is Freescale, which is an Austin company. Another Austin company, National Instruments, launched a new solution at the show that is meant to help accelerate 5G research. The company’s newest LabView system combines many of the hardware and software tools that engineers need for wireless prototyping into one solution.
In other news, the mobile data price wars continue this holiday season. Starting today, T-Mobile US is offering unlimited LTE data starting at $100 per month for two lines. Each additional line can be added for $40 more per month, up to a total of 10.
Our featured employer today is MasTec Network Solutions. The company is hiring a DAS project manager to work in Columbia New Hampshire, a Tower Foreman to work in Union Missouri, and a tower technician to work in Centennial Colorado.
That is your Mobile Minute.
