Intel and HP are both making big bets on virtual reality. Chip giant Intel has invested almost $25 million in Google Glass competitor Vuzix. Vuzix is a public company, and Intel’s $25 million investment buys it 30% of the company, valuing Vuzix at $83 million. The company targets enterprise customers rather than consumers with its M100 smart glasses.
Meanwhile HP is launching a new virtual reality display that enables users to control virtual objects with head movements or with a stylus. The company launched the new solution at CES, which is underway this week in Las Vegas.
