NEW YORK-Cellular Communications Inc. announced that its joint venture with AirTouch Communications has entered into an agreement to purchase certain operating assets from Central Ohio Cellular Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
The cellular properties are adjacent to the joint venture’s Ohio markets and have a population base of about 442,000. CCI and AirTouch each hold a 50 percent interest in the joint venture-commonly known as New Par-which owns and operates cellular systems located primarily in Ohio and Michigan.
Closing of the deal is subject to regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
