BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.-Air Apparent for NetWare, a wireless software application, was introduced by Motorola Inc.’s Personal Communicator Systems and Software division.
Air Apparent is an enterprise-wide wireless software application integrating paging technology with Novell NetWare and NetWare Directory Services. By uniting the network server with a paging network, Air Apparent lets business users send wireless messages to remote personnel from any client on the local area network.
“Air Apparent integrates two disparate technologies, paging and network-based applications,” said Steven Sparks, PCSS business manager. PCSS was formed in November as a branch of Motorola’s Paging Products Group to provide wireless software applications.
With Air Apparent for NetWare, users can send a message seamlessly to a file server residing on the network by using the existing e-mail application. The Air Apparent family of software products are vendor, paging network, paging frequency and device independent to encourage future development of custom applications, Motorola said.
