READYCOM FINISHES TRIALS OF VOICE-MESSAGE SERVICE

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-Following technical trials, ReadyCom Inc. said its ReadyTalk two-way voice messaging service, which receives and stores messages for cellular users, works without making modifications to cellular carriers’ infrastructures.

ReadyTalk service uses a device about the size of a deck of cards that vibrates to alert cellular users that a message has been received, according to the company. Users can listen to the complete message at their convenience or store it for later review. The patented technology also includes the ability to respond back to the caller with a message.

Comcast Cellular Communications Inc. customers in the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware area will be the first with access to ReadyTalk beginning later this year, ReadyCom said.
